FASHION DESIGNER

Responsibilities:
-
Create designs and prints, and provide input for new products for each collection

Create mood boards of themes of new collections
-
Planning and developing product ranges / collections
-
Producing tech-packs of designs for manufacturers
-
Trend forecasting and keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends
-
Assisting with sourcing and selecting fabrics, trims, fastenings and embellishments
-
Managing production including communicating with factories, daily, for updates and instructing them on production
-
Assisting with reviewing samples and amending tech packs accordingly
-
Working towards the collection schedules and making sure the team is on track
-
Assisting with look books, newsletters & social media
-
Assisting with photoshoots and events
-
Researching and communicating with factories and suppliers, including researching new factories for current product ranges and new product categories
Requirements:
-
2 - 3 years’ experience as a fashion designer
-
Degree in design or related field
-
Keen interest in women’s fashion
-
Ability to come up with new designs and prints
-
Experienced in the Adobe Creative Suite programmes and Mac OS
-
Ability to tech-pack designs to a professional standard
-
Strong understanding of fabrics
-
Entrepreneurial spirit and dedication

Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload

Independently self-motivated and enthusiastic to learn

Excellent verbal and written skills

Team player with an outgoing personality and ability to communicate with suppliers

Able to multi-task and work at a fast pace, quickly adapting to tasks that come up

Job Type:
Part time with the option of full time over the next year, permanent contract
Salary:
£25,000 per year, pro rata to hours worked

Schedule:

Two and a half days per week. 8 hour full days, 4 hour half day head office based. 1hr for lunch.

2.5 days to be agreed, within Monday to Friday
Education:
-
Qualification in design (preferred but not essential)
Experience:

Fashion Design: 2 years (required)
